Dr. Marla Kriet grew up in Denver and knew from a young age that she wanted to become a veterinarian. She received her bachelor’s degree in zoology from Colorado State University (Go Rams!), and fulfilled her childhood dream when she received her veterinary degree, also from CSU, in 2000.
Dr. Kriet was part of the team at Mile High Animal Hospital from 2010 to 2016, and she returned as medical director in October, 2019. She is certified in veterinary acupuncture and her professional interests include veterinary dentistry, geriatric care and pain management. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is establishing long term relationships with her patients and their families and being able to care for pets from puppy and kitten-hood through their senior years.
At home, Dr. Kriet, her husband, Bryan, and daughter, Natalie, live with their 3 dogs—Avalanche, a golden retriever; Yeti, a Jack Russell terrier; and Sally, a shih-tzu. In her free time she enjoys spending time in the mountains downhill mountain biking or skiing, reading, and working out.
